What data we collect
We collect personal data in the following ways:
- Contact form: Name, email address, company name (optional), phone number (optional), and the content of your message.
- Project brief builder: Name, email address, and the brief you produce through the conversational brief-building tool on our contact page.
- Newsletter: Email address and the timestamp of your explicit consent, if you choose to subscribe. A confirmation email is sent before you are added to any mailing list (double opt-in).
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymised usage data to understand how the site is used. We do not use cookies for tracking purposes and do not store IP addresses or persistent identifiers.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit the contact form or project brief builder. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at hello@techrock.co.uk. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
For newsletter subscriptions, we rely on consent given at the point of sign-up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you.
How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Respond to enquiries and project briefs submitted through our website
- Send the newsletter you subscribed to
- Improve our website and services using anonymised analytics
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party processors
We use the following sub-processors to deliver our services. Each is bound by data processing agreements:
- Resend — transactional email delivery (contact confirmations and notifications).
- Cloudflare — infrastructure, bot protection (Turnstile), and AI inference for our website assistant and brief builder. Cloudflare processes your inputs in order to generate responses; no conversation data is retained by Cloudflare for training purposes under our agreement.
- Vercel — website hosting and edge infrastructure.
- Buttondown — newsletter delivery and subscriber management. Email addresses and consent records are stored in Buttondown under our account. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
Data retention
We retain contact form and project brief submissions for up to 24 months for the purpose of managing business relationships. After that period, data is deleted. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data
- Portability: receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent: withdraw any consent you have given at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@techrock.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. We use a strictly necessary session cookie to support the theme toggle (light/dark mode). Our analytics are cookieless and do not track individual users across sessions.
